Palmina is a partner at Vinson & Elkins’ New York office and the Co-Head of the Government Investigations & White Collar Defense practice group. With over 20 years of experience, Palmina represents clients in internal and government investigations, litigation, and corporate governance counseling, with a principal focus on matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), international anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and anti-bribery laws, accounting irregularities, bid rigging and unfair trade practices, off-label pharmaceutical marketing, misappropriation of trade secrets, fraud, cybersecurity, and data privacy. Palmina leads teams in investigations in Latin America, throughout Western and Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Lisa Vicens

Lisa Vicens regularly represents public companies and their boards in internal and governmental investigations, as well as frequently advises on the development of compliance and integrity programs and counsels clients in advance of strategic transactions. Lisa frequently works on matters in Latin America, particularly enforcement matters involving clients in the region. She has been recognized by Chambers USA for FCPA and The Legal 500 Latin America for Compliance and Investigations, and named among Latinvex’s Top 100 Female Lawyers in Latin America and Global Investigations Review’s Top 100 Women in Investigations.
Bruno Brandao
Executive Director of International Transparency in Brazil
Bruno is a member of the Executive Board and the Executive Manager of Transparency International in Brazil in collaboration with the Berlin office. Bruno is an economist who graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and holds a master’s degree in public management from the University of York. He also holds a master`s degree in international relations from the Institut Barcelona Estudis Internacionals (IBEI). Bruno has been a member of Transparency International since 2010, with experience in Germany, Mexico, and Brazil.
About the Panel
This panel will provide a discussion from the Brazilian standpoint after ten years of the Brazilian Clean Company Act and how anti-corruption and anti-money laundering enforcement agencies (e.g., CGU, COAF, MPF and Courts) have been acting, mainly how the recent decisions of the Brazilian Supreme Court (STF) have been affecting and might affect the settlements signed under such statute, as well as how international cooperation has developed notably with the U.S. government. The panel will also present the perspectives of Brazilian and foreign companies with a presence in Brazil when facing the new policies issued by U.S. authorities, such as the FCPA, New Safe Harbor Policy on M&A, and the FEPA.
